Wedding Rose Petal Trends for 2016! Flyboy Naturals

Wedding Rose Petal Trends for 2016!

Did you know that 43% of engagements happen between November and January? Here at Flyboy Naturals we know that wonderful engagements can happen any time of the year, but this does mean that most people are now officially entering “Planning Season”. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about Part II of last week’s blog “5 Fun Ways to Preserve, Reuse & Repurpose Your Wedding Petals” -- but we want to help our newly engaged brides start planning, so we’ll get back to Part II soon! For now, let’s look at some emerging petal trends to watch for, and use in your wedding this year!

A Little More Glam

It seems we’re gradually getting away from the rustic, vintage look that’s been popular for a few years now. Don’t worry, it hasn’t left for good, there’s still a lot of rustic, but this year rustic has a more glamorous vibe to it. The cowgirl boots have been set aside and the designer shoes are making a comeback. There’s still earth tones and wood features, but we’re seeing that coupled with fancy crystal details. The venue might be rustic and full of vintage decor, but the aisleway and petals are all ‘lux and glam.’ Check out these ‘Rustic Glam’ wedding petal ideas:

Wine Hues & Greenery Accents

We’ve noticed lots of light-bodied reds (think Pinot Noir) and full-bodied reds (think Syrah, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon) coupled with gorgeous natural greenery in the works this year. We always see these two colors in the winter, but this year, we expect to see these colors showcased year round! Shown here are our “Romantic Rendezvous Preserved Freeze Dried Rose Petals”, our “Love Preserved Freeze Dried Rose Petals” and our “Dark Blend Peony Preserved Freeze Dried Petals.” We have so many petals that would work just splendidly with this theme, browse our petals for the right fit for your wedding, one of my personal favorites is our deep purple, eggplant Ebb Tide Freeze Dried Petals - I love these growing in my garden and I love them as petals too! These gorgeous inspirational photos are sure to help get your plans going:

Water Features with Petals

There is something very timeless and elegant about rose petals floating in the water and this year we expect to see even more of these unique water features. Fill a fountain at your wedding venue with rose petals. It offers a place of serenity, a beautiful and tranquil place for a moment of respite on your wedding day. These make for wonderful photo opportunities, or even the backdrop to a wedding memorial table. If your wedding venue doesn’t have a fountain you may be surprised to learn that many rental companies offer these unique features. And of course you can also float petals in vases or bowls! Here are a few fountain inspirations to wet your palette with:

Rose Petal Poppers

Take the rose petal toss to another level with the new, and (if we do say so ourselves) amazing petal poppers! With a simple push rose petals will cascade over the newlyweds for the most romantic petal toss yet. There is no need to worry about staining the gown, or slipping because the petals are freeze dried, as an added bonus they’re also bio-degradable, eco-friendly and grown on our family farm in Oregon! These help create a very memorable walk down the aisle for the newly married couple; they are also great for the entry to the reception, the first dance and all the photos. If you’re having a photo-booth place a few poppers among the other photo-booth props to help recreate the petal cascade in photo memories.

What do you think of these 2016 wedding petal trend predictions? Are you planning any of these for your upcoming wedding?
