Color Series: Orange Obsession

Warm and Vibrant, Creative and Enthusiastic… Orange. The color orange is created by mixing intense and energetic red with happy yellow, two colors we have already covered in our Color Series. Read more about Romantic Reds here: http://flyboynaturals.com/blog/color-series-roman... and about Sunny Yellows here: http://flyboynaturals.com/blog/color-series-roman...

Like yellow, Orange is also associated with sunshine and is a warm and energetic color. It is an enthusiastic color that is said to promote creativity, success, and enjoyment and is said to represent freedom, change and strength. Orange is often thought of as a Fall color and it does work wonderfully for that time of year, but it also works well for Spring and Summer. Spring brings out the softer oranges, like peach, while Summer is the perfect time for lighter yet brighter oranges like tangerine, and Fall is prime for darker, richer oranges, like persimmon or even terra-cotta.

The color orange can be used with many other colors. Pinks, Yellows, Blues, Purples, Reds, and of course, Neutrals, like Cream, Tan and even Gray. For a Spring wedding, try pairing a lighter orange with light pink and sunny yellow, and for a Fall affair, try pairing a dark orange with rich reds and deep purples. An orange color palette could work for just about any event type as well. Garden, Tropical or Modern Weddings, a Bold and Bright Birthday Bash or a 21st Wedding Anniversary (the 21st year is represented by the color orange!).
