Behind the Scenes at Flyboy Naturals Farm

Behind the Scenes at Flyboy Naturals Farm

We are well into Spring here at Flyboy Naturals, one of our favorite times of year when the farm literally springs back to life after a cool Oregon winter. Our farm is located in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, aptly named for the groves of Oregon Myrtle trees growing nearby. We have had some surprisingly warm spring days and lots of work happening at the farm, come join us for a behind the scenes tour of Flyboy Naturals! But first, here’s an Oregon Myrtle Tree:

One of our spring projects included the construction of a new greenhouse. This beauty is 42 feet wide and 136 feet long offering us plenty of space for some new farm projects. We plan on dedicating some of this space to basil, cilantro and other fresh herbs and veggies. We sell these at local Farmer’s Markets. We have another greenhouse on the property that is already busy growing away and we are excited to add additional greenhouse space.

Here you can see the guys hard at work staking the beds, building the raised beds and tilling the soil in what will eventually be the raised beds:

Here’s the greenhouse from a distance and of course it wouldn’t be complete without an official date stamp in the concrete alongside a sweet and constant reminder to smile and some inspirational words we try to live by here on the farm:

And now let’s take a look at some of the flowers blooming around the farm right now, lilac, peonies, roses… oh my!! First up are the stunning peonies, from buds to blossoms. The white one on the bottom right is a Japanese Tree Peony Flower. We are excited to begin shipping fresh cut peonies this week, with more color options available as we move forward into the season, if you’re interested in fresh cut peonies, now is the time to get your order in:

They say a picture is worth a thousand words for a reason, I’m speechless over this purple hearted beauty and check out the little lady bug visiting one of our peony blooms:

We have officially started harvesting lilacs around the farm, like these beauties:

And of course, the heart of Flyboy Naturals our stunning roses:

Here we have a honey bee on our apple tree blossoms, blooming azaleas and this story wouldn’t be complete with Flyboy’s own granddaughter Dahlia, you may remember her from our Dahlia Color Palette inspiration a few weeks back. On this particular day she was quite excited about her snail who she named Chris.

Shared with love from our farm to you!
