2019 Fall Wedding Trends : Colors + Venues

Summer is still in full swing, the kids are already headed back to school, and you know what that means -- fall is only a few weeks away now (September 23rd, 2019)! Did anyone else already see a Pumpkin Spice Meme floating around the Interweb? Or was it just me? Fall is coming. If you’re planning a fall wedding you will definitely want to see the hot wedding color trends being predicted for this year and these stunning venue ideas. But first, grab your PSL -- this apparently the new lingo for Pumpkin Spice Latte by the way, who knew? Not me. Now we know! -- grab that latte, sit down and let’s take a look!

The fashion world is predicting a season full of deep and spicy reds, combined with earthy and nutty browns, and some deep greens paired with fun pops of orange, fruity pinks and traditional blues.

In a wedding these colors could combine in a number of different ways. Here we see a focus on the natural earth tones, combining the browns, greens and emerald greens with some fun pops of pink. This trendy naked cake is dripping in deep dark chocolate brown with creme and fruity pink accent flowers, while the table setting combines multiple shades of brown with a dusty green-blue of eucalyptus leaves. Our Hot Cocoa freeze dried petals fit perfectly with this earthy color combination.

Another way to use these colors would be to focus in on a few complementary colors like the rich emerald green and creamy mustard yellow. We typically see this green closer to the winter holidays, but when paired with an orangey-yellow fall color it takes on a different look all together. Our Flyboy Naturals Mango Freeze Dried Rose Petals pair perfectly with this fall palette.

There are so many beautiful ways to combine these colors! We love this vintage inspired wedding coordinated by Chicago Vintage Weddings. The oriental rugs add a splash of orange to the earthy and light filled atrium where the ceremony was held. The only thing missing is a sprinkling of freeze-dried rose petals, we think our Shabby Chic Rose Petals fit the vintage theme just perfectly with their vintage looking “tea stained” coloring and soft blush appearance.

Beyond the color predictions for 2019 we are also hearing lots of buzz around unique venues. Breweries may become frontrunners over wineries. Greenhouses, atriums, libraries and museums are shining over last years barns and ranches. Check out this modern industrial beerhall wedding in New York City. The aged bricks, vast ceilings and exposed hardware features are warmed up by an aisle sprinkled with white rose petals and candlelight.

The Atrium in Wisconsin is a perfect example of the type of venue we expect to be seeing more of this fall. With its urban industrial vibe, large spaces, rustic wood, expansive skylights and rooftop gardens it offers a unique wedding setting. Rose petals are a welcome addition in these large and cool spaces, use them to define an area or sprinkle them all over to add warmth to the open rooms and vast landscapes.

Here is another example of a unique wedding venue - the Georgia State Railroad Museum! Venues like this one offer one-of-a-kind history, amazing photo backdrops and large spaces ready to accommodate any size wedding party.
