Sarada & Sean's Wedding September 25, 2004 Click on the photo for larger image of this lovely creation called a Mandala.
"Hello, Jami and all the folks at Flyboy Naturals ~ Thank you for the gorgeous dried rose petals which we used to create a sacred outdoor space for my son's wedding. I've attached a photo for you. Sarada (bride) and Sean (groom) along with their minister stood in the mandala during the ceremony. Just before the wedding took place, guests added petals as symbol for their prayers and blessings for Sarada & Sean. As the minister said, to stand on the foundation of the love and blessings from friends and family is the best foundation from which to begin their married life together. After the ceremony, we gathered some of the now hallowed petals for Sarada and Sean to keep. Another wedding took place shortly after theirs (the location is very popular as it looks out to the ocean) and the mandala became part of that ceremony as well. Beauty has a way of just giving, giving & giving! Again, thank you for your quality product, prompt service, fair prices and the joyous work you have of sharing nature's bounty with others!" Sincerely, Christine Boesch ___________________________________________ Christine was kind enough to share these photos and the "HOW TO" instruction below. We think this is fantastic & wanted to share it with you also. ___________________________________________ The mandala was very easy to make. I just used a large heart pattern being sure that the point of the heart was a 90 degree angle so that 4 hearts = 360 degrees, i.e. formed a circle. I outlined the hearts with flour to set the pattern on the grass. The hearts in white petals were filled in first then I pushed back the center and filled it in with the yellow petals. I then just filled in the spaces between and above the hearts with pink petals and finished it with the variegated red petals leaving enough in a basket so that guests could take a few and continue building the outside ring with their blessings/prayers. There was a slight breeze so we did end up carefully covering it with a plastic tablecloth until the first guests began to arrive. The entire pattern ended up to be almost 6 in diameter. _______________________________________ Thank you again for creating this very impressive and beautiful rose petal mandala. We are grateful that you shared it with us, for all to enjoy!
