Casual Uses for Freeze-Dried Petals Part 2: Parties and Get-Togethers

Sprinkled throughout random weekends and sporadic days off work, parties and get-togethers are a dominant form of fun and social engagement. Whether it’s a fanciful birthday bash with cake, themes, and decorations, or a casual background barbeque while relatives are in town, parties in their every form are something to look forward to and enjoy.  With every excuse to sit back and enjoy living, there comes an excuse to indulge yourself with flowers.

Considering how often parties occur over the years, both those hosted by you and those hosted by friends with a little bit of your help, freeze dried flower petals are an especially beautiful and practical alternative to a fresh bouquet. Freeze dried rose petals simply do not wilt and brown. You can spread them out on a table for a birthday party one weekend, and then collect them in a vase for brunch the next. Thus, to continue our blog series on more casual uses for petals in everyday life, we’ve compiled a series of suggestions for petals in parties and get-togethers. Below, they are broken down into the three main types of parties and get-togethers you’ll encounter, and recommendations of freeze dried petal blends that will make your event look idyllic and gorgeous!

Brunch

Brunches are often more get-togethers than full-scale parties, but they’re still among the most memorable of experiences with friends. They are a great place for a variety of things, including social calls for close friends, a time to announce big news like an engagement or a pregnancy, celebrations for graduations, and club meetings. In any case, they’re usually a place for laughter and cheer. Thus, when adding in flower petals, you don’t need to do an over-the-top setup. Simply set them on a table over a clean tablecloth, or scatter them on the floor around tables and chairs to create a joyous ambiance.

For brunches, bright and radiant colors are an absolute must. We recommend petals like:

Dinner Parties

Dinner parties are at their best when there’s good wine and good company involved. They tend to have an invigorating balance of sincere conversation and silliness. Thus, any decor with freeze dried petals should create a subtle background, rather than be bold or dramatic. For example, try lighting a candle inside a tall vase, and placing petals at the base of it. Use for a simple, but delightful, centerpiece at the dinner table.

Alternatively, try placing individual rose petals inside cubes in an ice tray. Cover them with water, and place in the freezer. Later, when company arrives, put the petal ice cubes in a large bowl or bucket, and use to keep bottles of alcohol cold, as seen above.

For dinner parties, rich, monochromatic petals help keep a subtle, but fun, atmosphere. Try petals like:

Birthday Parties

Since everyone has a birthday, they’re one of the most popular excuses for big get-togethers. However, unlike other events that have an overarching mood that pervasively appears no matter whose hosting, birthday parties are endlessly versatile. Themes, colors, and ambience always changes, making it a bit more difficult to express general suggestions for them across the board. So, instead, we broke it down into two categories: casual birthday parties, and elegant birthday parties.

Casual Birthday Parties

Casual birthday parties can take the form of brunches or dinner parties, but can also be barbecues, picnics, or a day at the beach. Generally, they have a very laid-back atmosphere. This calls, again, for subtle decor. Most parties of this type just have a clean house and good food. So don’t try and go over-the-the top with your petals. Spreading them out on the food table and on top of your birthday cake gives your event a simple, but pleasant touch. Please, keep in mind, Flyboy Natural petals should only be used as decoration; they are not edible.

Elegant Birthday Parties

“Elegant birthday parties” is a bit of a misnomer, considering it refers to any birthday party with lots of decorations. This includes themed birthday parties. Petals are a fantastic way to create ambiance for these events. Instead of adding a simple hint of excitement to the table like in casual birthday parties, they add a spectacular rush of color to food tables and cakes. Spread them lushly along counter tops. Garnish individual treats and desserts with single rose petals. Add them on top of and around the cake. The more creative you get, the more exciting your results will be!

For elegant birthday parties, try dramatic or moody petal blends like:

Whether it’s a huge birthday party with the whole neighborhood or a simple dinner for close friends, freeze dried rose petals serve to amplify the mood. They can be a pleasant touch; they can be your centerpiece; best of all, they can be used again and again for any and all get-togethers. After all, a little splash of color never hurts!

We would love to help you make your party "picture perfect"
