Wedding Trends for 2015 - Food and Entertainment

Wedding Trends for 2015 - Food and Entertainment

We have come to the fifth and last post in our Wedding Trends Series. Don't worry, there will be lots more fun to come, like a Cool Color Series!

But today we are going to cover some of the trends in Food and Entertainment for 2015. Food is often a main ingredient of weddings as it can bring people together and create or bring back memories. So, look for 2015 to bring fun family style meals, interactive tasting stations, or a journey through a menu of small bites. Remember to consider all special dietary needs of your guests when selecting your menu. Have a choice or two for vegetarians, vegans & people with gluten sensitivities…belief me your thoughtfulness will make a great impression.

As for the bar... create a signature drink, set up a beer or whiskey tasting, try some food and wine or beer pairings. Your guests won't miss out on a full bar if you offer some fun alternatives to choose from.

And we can't forget the Cake! Honestly, I am a pie person, but experts say Cakes are It for 2015. Cakes with cool metallic details, lots of fresh flowers, texture and design. Naked Cakes without much frosting and Cakes with Buttercream frosting...Pancake Cakes stacked high and Single Layer Cakes. Basically have fun and show your personality.

In the Entertainment world, look for the rise of live bands and live performances. The experts suggest fire performers, celebrity lookalikes, magicians or mind readers, something unexpected that will get your guests talking.

Socially Savvy vs Un-plugged Purist? In regards to technology at weddings, we will see both sides. A social wedding will have a custom hashtag and chic charging stations while an un-plugged wedding will ask that you check your phone at the door literally or figuratively.
