Peonies, Peonies, Peonies! See How Brides, Florists and Photographers are Using Them!

Peonies, Peonies, Peonies! See How Brides, Florists and Photographers are Using Them!

This is always such a fun, and busy, time of year for us at Flyboy Naturals. When the peonies start to bud and bloom it happens quickly and the next thing you know we are in full swing harvesting, shipping and enjoying these beautiful flowers. But, the truth is, so much of the inspiration comes from YOU and seeing what you do with them. We’ve had a number of people share their work with us over the last few weeks and we wanted to take a moment to share some of this incredible talent with all of you.

First, if you missed this on Facebook and Instagram be sure to head on over to our YouTube Channel and watch our incredible time-lapse video of our peonies blooming, it’s only 30 seconds long, but absolutely incredible to watch. Watch it once focusing on the blooms and then watch it again and check out the water line, it’s neat to see how much water the flowers take up over the 3 days of filming!

Next up the amazing work of Shelly Sarver Designs, her work has been featured on Style Me Pretty and we couldn’t be more excited to see what she would do with our peonies. Shelly is based in Iowa where she created these beautiful bouquets and arrangements full of peonies and eucalyptus for the wedding of Cole and Chelsey:

This is just a small sampling of the many beautiful photos taken by Seneca Epley of this floral inspired wedding, to see more photos from Cole and Chelsey’s big day head on over to Seneca’s Blog.

We are so lucky that peony season almost always collides perfectly with Mother’s Day and this year was no exception. The incredible nature-inspired floral designer, Mercedes Ivener, at Honeysuckle Hollow Floral Design in Sioux City, IA featured our peonies in her unique shop. They work mostly behind the scenes as a hybrid between an event florist studio and a flower shop, but they offer a really unique “open house” one day out of each month where they open up to the public for a large flower sale. Here are some photos from their Mother’s Day Flower Sale and Open House featuring our peonies:

She writes on her blog, “I was in peony heaven and could be seen burying my nose amidst big bundles of these gorgeous coral peonies on more than one occasion. I try to stop and appreciate the beauty around me from time to time even amidst the chaos. With these huge, gorgeous peonies in the shop it wasn’t hard. I LOVED them and the family flower farm I bought them from in Oregon. It is the third year we have ordered coral peonies in for our Mother’s Day Sale, and it is becoming a happy tradition for many of us. Hope to have them again next year!”

And, perhaps the icing on the peony cake is how this all comes full circle, from the new love celebrated at a wedding, to the all-encompassing love of a Mother and back to this maternity shoot:

Sarah of Sarah Ann Photography happened to be one of the people who stopped by the Mother’s Day sale at Honeysuckle Hollow Floral Designs and picked up some peonies and she created this incredible flower crown all by herself for a maternity photo shoot featuring the new mother-to-be Kat.

It’s truly amazing to see the work you do with our flowers and our petals. We thank each and every one of you for sharing these precious moments with us. We feel so blessed to have somehow played a part in all of these very special days. We still have peonies to ship but if you are thinking of ordering don’t wait as these beauties are only here for a season. In a few weeks now we will be excited all over again as we enter Hydrangea Season
